Field Trip Tomorrow!

Parents,
Tomorrow 5th Grade will be going to listen to the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra at the UGA Performing Arts Center and then dropping by the Varsity in Athens for a quick treat. We are so excited! Today we went over a few expectations with the students and just want to review  a few of them here in case you get questions tonight at home.

This is not an all day field trip - therefore students will not need to take anything on the bus with them except a small sweater or jacket. All cell phones, books, art supplies, etc. will be left here at school for them to retrieve upon our return. No food, candy, or drinks will be allowed on the buses. Water bottles and lunches will be stored at the back of the bus and will be retrieved for use at The Varsity.

Since this is the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, certain etiquette is expected. We went over several of these expectations with the students today and will review them tomorrow. I know we will set a great example for others tomorrow while out and about in the community.

Finally, we talked today about how best to present ourselves in different situations. This led to a great discussion on what to wear in certain situations. Since this is a somewhat formal performance, we are encouraging students to dress respectfully tomorrow. "Picture Day" attire or "Graduation" attire is encouraged, but not required.
