UPDATE on Big Bash as of 5/17/18

Hello Parents!  Based on possible weather, the 5th Grade Beach Bash will move INLAND!!!

It will be all the same “Oceans of Fun” from 11:00am - 2:00pm…. just inside in the gym, music room, art room, and cafeteria.  Who knows… we may get to still briefly surf outside for a SHORT while for some FUN whole grade activities - if a break in the “tropical” storm!

Sign up Genius volunteers – everything will be the same except NO TENTS needed, no 7:50-8:20 Set Up Crew, and we will contact the volunteers for the TABLES that we still need (YOU WILL get an email if we still need your table – with instructions for when/where to put it).

If you have not already, please have your student bring to school:
Red 5th grade shirt (and shorts, closed toe shoes)
Beach towel
Water bottled (labeled with name)

Make sure when party ends at 2:00 , the students go back to their homeroom classroom.  They each will get one Souvenir Photo frame from our “Tropical” Photo Booth waiting for them there and some MAY receive a surprise for any lucky door prize winners that are still there when party ends!  :-)

THANKS AGAIN to all the parents that donated, volunteered, and supported the BEACH BASH 2018 for the Class of 2025!!!

New 5/16/18 Big Bash Info

Hello Parents!  THANKS to everyone who sent in their donation and volunteered to sign up for the 5th Grade Beach Bash on Friday!  Although the forecast is not looking sunny, your child will still have WAVES of FUN!

We are currently working with volunteers/staff to possibly move the Beach Bash INLAND (to be held in the MBES gym/activity rooms/etc.), but we will STILL BE NEEDING ALL tables and volunteers regardless of weather.  Tent donors will hear by Thursday early evening if tents still needed and balloon donors will hear even before that whether they need to send these party items.

In the meantime, please remember to send these items into your child’s homeroom teacher BY THURSDAY 5/17:
  1. Wash and return RED BASH T-shirt to give to homeroom teacher by THURSDAY
  2. Bring Beach Towel and reusable WATER BOTTLE (labeled with their name).

On the last day of school, they will wear nice graduation clothes and then pack shorts/tennis shoes for changing into after the ceremony (and homeroom teachers will give them back their red shirts at that time).

Thanks AGAIN for everyone helping organize, volunteering, or donating items/services for the Beach Bash!  The kids will enjoy their celebration as they surf to 6th grade!

Updated 5/11/19: BIG BASH INFO

Hello Parents!  Please look in TODAY’S Friday Folder today for a hard copy of the Beach Bash FLYER!  This has a sign-up link to volunteer or drop off items to use at bash (tent, tables, pre-filled water balloons).

Please return the bottom section which is a “Donation Form” and $10 cash or check (to cover their Bash lunch, entertainment, and 5th Grade Group Teacher gift (in place of individual gifts).  This amount is lower than most year’s since you already paid for your student’s 5th grade shirt in April.

Please SEND THIS BACK with your student THIS MONDAY, May 14th!

Event Details:
-Beach Bash 2018 – Surfing to 6th Grade!
-Friday, May 18th 11:00am-2:00pm on the "Grassy Front Shores” of MBES
-Cost: Please use the bottom of attached flyer to send in your $10 donation per child to cover lunch, party expenses, and also all teachers gifts for 5th grade staff (this will be a group gift from the class, so NO need to buy individual teacher gifts). We were able to keep this per student amount low due to money we have already raised to help cover costs through our multiple  Biscuit Sales and Field Day shirt fundraisers.

Note: We have lunch provided only for students/ 5th grade teachers, so feel free to pack a light lunch for you.  We will have plenty of cold water available for all parents!  Note: No siblings that are students at MBES will be at the party (they will need to stay with their own grade for the day) - just the 5th graders will be attending this BASH!

Volunteer Sign-up List - We need lots of helpers:
Sign up to help or if you can’t come to the Bash, perhaps you can loan a table/tent/ or prefill 50 water balloons?  See details at signup.

https://www.signupgenius.com/go/30E0C4CAFA62AA4FF2-itistime (cut and paste in your browser if needed).

ALL FUN, No Experience needed:
Pls note that none of the games, inflatables, picture, hair, or food areas need any "skill" and they will all already have their supplies - just need a smiling face.  You will get any instructions you need when checking in at DJ booth at either 10:30am or 12:30 pm.  There will be some "down time" at every area, so we know you will have a WONDERFUL time joining in your child's final hours at the school!  :-)

5th Grade RED Bash T-shirt Reminders:
  1. First Wearing TUESDAY 5/15 for Field Day (some teachers will just keep in their classroom and give it students on that Tuesday morning when they arrive).
  2. Wash and return this shirt by WEDNESDAY 5/16 or THURSDAY 5/17 at LATEST!
  3. BY THURSDAY also bring: Beach Towel and reusable WATER BOTTLE (labeled with their name).

On the last day of school, they will wear nice graduation clothes and then pack shorts/tennis shoes for changing into after the ceremony (and homeroom teachers will give them back their red shirts at that time).

Special THANKS to all the Parents that already have been helping out or donating items/services! Looking forward to everyone now returning their donation forms and those that can signing up to bring items or volunteer for WAVES of FUN!!!

Thx,
5th Grade Bash Parent Committee
