Flash light project due March 4th

Yeah! our favorite project of the year. Every fifth grader needs to make a flashlight. The only real requirement is to build it yourself and be able to turn it on and off.

Here is a letter I have used in the past.
Make Your Own Flashlight
To show a thorough understanding of how to make a complete circuit, build a homemade flashlight.
To help in the process, answer the following questions
1.                  What are the necessary parts to make a complete circuit?
      2.                  What are some materials you have at home that could be used as insulators?
3.                  What are some materials you have at home that could be used as conductors?

Now let’s build.
1.  Take apart a flashlight.

2. Identify which parts are conductors and insulators.

3. Examine how it works.

4. Illustrate and label the parts.

5. Build a flashlight using a light bulb and materials you have at home.

Have fun and get as creative as you want to.
