Homework:

• Read Nightly (Continue to work towards independent AR goals.)
• 5 A Day Language Review  
• Review Civil War (Civil War Picture Dictionaries, found on Google Drive, due by Friday, 9/16)

• Describing Characters

Upcoming Formatives and Summative:

• Friday, 9/16: 5 A Day Language Formative (Use nightly homework sheet for review.) 
• Friday, 9/16: Civil War Summative (Study resources can be found on Google Classroom, SS Workbook pgs. 7-15, and in student SS folders.)
• Tuesday, 9/20: Greek and Latin Roots Unit 1 Formative (Use Unit 1 packet for review.)

WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 12-16

• Read 30 minutes/night, 5 nights/week. This should be completed by Sunday. Log minutes in your Novel Study notebook reading log. Please make sure you are reading a book on your level! 

• Complete 45 minutes of practice in IXL language arts. The topics to work in this week are: context clues and greek/latin roots

• Events Leading Up To The Civil War Quiz on FRIDAY.
• Greek/Latin Roots Quiz #2 on FRIDAY. Study the packet completed in class!
• Elements of a Story Quiz on FRIDAY.

Time in class is also being given to complete these items.

• Complete Greek and Latin Unit #2 by Tuesday.
• Complete SS workbook page 7 and 8 by Wednesday.
• Read and complete articles on Vietnam War (for Cracker) in Google Classroom Reading by Wednesday.
• Complete Reading Placement test and Math Placement test in Moby Max by Thursday.
• Add to thank you notes for Yee and Avid in Google Classroom Homeroom by Friday.

• SS Events Leading Up To Civil War Quiz Friday.
• Preposition Quiz Friday.
• Partial Quotient Quiz Friday.
• Cells Project - Be collecting recyclable materials from home to use in your project. Bring recyclable materials to school by Wednesday in a labeled bag. The majority of this project will be completed at school in pairs and groups.
